About Laxmi Prasanna

Photography has been my passion since my engineering college days. It started off as an enthusiasm using the film point and shoot camera that normally everyone had. I started serious photography with a film SLR in 2004. It was a time when DSLR had just entered the market and was a bit more expensive to buy. Hence I started with a Nikon N80, a film SLR. With film, one has to understand the basics well, before trying to make some good images. You dont see the results immediately and hence preparation and clarity on concepts is important. Reading material on internet and in books was the main source of photography education to me on the basics. Though it was a slow learning process, it in fact gave me a good foundation on fundamentals.

It was only in 2011 that I graduated to DSLR, after which my experimentations speeded up and all of the images that is available on this website are from my Nikon D7000 DSLR. Though there are images from film, that could have been part of this portfolio, I just have not found a good way to scan them at good quality to add them here. 

With regards to my photography interests. I like Landscapes a lot. I am also interested in Bird, Wildlife and Travel photography. All the images in this website are from these genre of photography. The intent of this website is to share my work and also my views and experiences on various concepts and aspects related to photography.
